A2PATS

The Advanced Architecture Phase, Amplitude, and Time Simulator (A2PATS) is an advanced EW laboratory simulator designed to verify that aircraft have the ability to precisely locate, identify and defend against virtually all ground-based, surface-to-air missile threats.

ABE®

ABE (Advanced Boresight Equipment) is a state-of-the-art, gyro-stabilized, electro-optic (EO), angular measurement system designed to align systems on any land, sea or air vehicle.

BacUSS

The Background Ultraviolet (UV) Surveillance System (BacUSS) Data Acquisition Unit (DAU) addresses operational requirements where there is a need to record and GPS time stamp all data from a set of AAR-47(V)2 missile warning system optical sensor converters. These requirements include data capture during a test and evaluation mission or during operational missions where the information can be used for mission planning purposes, or to advise air crews on a cockpit display of the level of UV background in a particular quadrant area.

BAIL

The Baringa Ancillary Illuminator (BAIL) test set is designed for use with the UV Baringa test set to support the front-line testing of the AN/AAR-47 UV missile warning system (operating with software versions 20.1 and above), where UV backscatter is required in more than one sensor for the AN/AAR-47 software to respond to stimulation.

Barman

A UV Baringa Management (Barman) software tool provides a profile developer/viewer, library editing and remote control capabilities to UV Baringa.

DAU

The DAU is used in conjunction with the UV Baringa to detect and display the photon emissions from an AN/AAR-47 Legacy Optical Sensor Converter (OSC) and display them to the operator as either a photon irradiance response or counts per second value, thus enabling the operator to determine the sensitivity and operational effectiveness of the AN/AAR-47 legacy missile warning system. The DAU also detects various cable failure modes associated with the OSC to processor wiring harnesses and displays these faults to the operator at commencement of the test.

EMU

The ESL Meon Utility (EMU) software tool provides a profile developer/viewer and library editing capability to MEON v3/v4 products.

GCU

The Griffen Control Software (GCU) provides a profile developer/viewer, library editing and remote control capabilities to Griffen.

GMSG

The Generic Missile Signal Generator (GMSG), also known as the Profile Wizard, has been designed to provide a simple interface for simulating engagement scenarios for a generic surface-to-air missile (SAM) threat. The software generates the UV plume characteristic measured at the target using the physics of blackbody radiation, atmospheric propagation and kinematics.

Griffen

Griffen is a hand-held, medium-range EO system designed to stimulate UV threat (missile/hostile fire) warning systems by simulation of temporal and spectral missile plume UV signatures. It is used for opposing forces and for flight confidence testing at aircraft bases or training ranges where the engagement footprint is limited to less than three kilometres.

HCU

The Hydra Control Software (HCU) provides a profile developer/viewer, library editing and remote control capabilities to all Hydra products.

Hot Nose

Hot Nose is a medium range infrared (IR) system designed to stimulate an Infrared Search and Track, or IRST, sensor which replicates the heating effect of a nose-cone of a missile and has been designed to be installed at the front of a towed target.

Hydra SIL

The Hydra SIL (systems integration laboratory) is an advanced stimulator of laser warning receivers by simulation of complex laser beamrider, designator and range finder threats via a minimum set of two, 905 nanometer (nm) (three degrees and 10 degrees field of view) and one, 1,550 nm (three degrees field of view) Class 3B laser subsystems. It is used for SIL testing.

Hydra v3

Stimulator of laser warning receivers by simulation of generic laser beamrider, designator and range finder threats via two pulsed 905 nm and 1,550 nm Class 1M laser subsystems. It is used for depot-level and front line confidence testing.

Hydra v4

Stimulator of laser warning receivers by simulation of generic laser beamrider, designator and range finder threats via two pulsed 905 nm and 1,550 nm and one continuous wave 905 nm Class 1M laser subsystems. It is used for depot-level and front line confidence testing.

IR Baringa

Stimulator of single-/dual-colour IR missile warning systems by simulation of temporal and spectral missile plume IR signatures. It is used for SIL, depot-level and front-line confidence testing.

IR Barman

The IR Baringa Management (IR Barman) software tool provides a profile developer/viewer, library editing and remote control capabilities to IR Baringa.

IR Beacon Mallina

A medium-range IR beacon designed to stimulate directional IR countermeasure (DIRCM) fine-track sensors; used for test and evaluation (T&E) and air crew training (ACT).

JSECST

The AN/USM-670 Joint Service Electronic Combat Systems Tester (JSECST) is a highly advanced electronic end-to-end test technology for the assurance that EW systems are ready to use.

Lab JSECST

A fully programmable stimulus and measurement system that supports vertical electronic combat system testability in the original equipment manufacturer laboratory or the back room of the maintenance depot.

MalCom

The Mallina Communications (MalCom) suite is a software management tool enabling profile developer/viewer, library editing and remote control of the Mallina and Phoenix family of products.

Mallina BPSU

This Battery Pack Power Supply Unit (BPSU) is for use with the Mallina and Phoenix Lite family of EO/IR stimulators. The module comprises a number of sealed batteries, a battery charger and essential over-voltage protection circuitry. The unit has been designed to provide power for field operations where no main supply is readily available, and the Battery Pack is capable of providing sufficient power for up to 200 firings of a single stimulator from a fully charged unit.

Mallina LRF

The Mallina Laser Range Finder (LRF) is a commercial, off-the-shelf system including micro-controller and interfacing software to improve the operational effectiveness and ease-of-use of medium-/long-range EO/IR threat warner stimulators.

Mallina PSU

The Mallina Power Supply Unit (PSU) is designed for operation with the units in the Mallina and Phoenix Lite family of EO/IR stimulators. The unit has been designed to provide power for field operations where no main supply is readily available, and requires single phase 90-260 volts active current at 47-63 hertz main supply.

Mallina Tripod

This is a ruggedized tripod with fifteen-stage sealed fluid head on pan and tilt, incorporating a quick release plate adjustable for balance with scale, double pan bar facility and 360-degree scale on pan, 120-degree tilt angle and smooth positive braking on pan and tilt. It is compatible with all Mallina, Phoenix Lite and Portable Range Threat Simulator (PRTS) products.

MAST

Man-Portable Aircraft Survivability Trainer, or MAST is a cost-effective, medium-range EO system designed to stimulate UV threat (missile/hostile fire) warning systems. It incorporates detachable day/night recording capability for after-action review and playback; used for ASE training.

MEON (A)

This is a calibrated end-to-end confidence tester of laser-based DIRCM systems incorporating UV missile warning system stimulation, an intelligent IR beacon and jamming code verification (Bands II & IV).

MEON (A) Library Editor

The MEON (A) Library Editor software tool provides a profile developer/viewer and library editing capability to MEON (A).

MEON SIL

This is an end-to-end SIL tester of DIRCM systems incorporating UV missile warning system stimulation, an IR beacon and jamming code verification.

MEON v3

This is an end-to-end confidence tester of laser-based DIRCM systems incorporating UV missile warning system stimulation, an IR beacon and jamming code verification.

MEON v4

This is a calibrated end-to-end confidence tester of lamp-based DIRCM systems incorporating UV missile warning system stimulation, an IR beacon and jamming code verification.

Model 527

Stimulator of radar warning receivers by simulation of complex RF signatures; used for SIL, depot level and front line confidence testing.

MSSIB

The Mallina Smokey SAM Interface Box (MSSIB) layout is similar to the existing Smokey SAM Control Unit with the exception that ESL has added a built-in-test feature and has provided an additional input socket, which is connected to the Mallina Monitor Port.

Phoenix

This is a long-range IR system designed to stimulate IR threat (missile/hostile fire) warning systems and DIRCM fine-track sensors by simulation of temporal and spectral missile plume IR signatures. It is used for T&E.

Phoenix Lite

A medium-range IR system designed to stimulate IR threat (missile/hostile fire) warning systems and DIRCM fine-track sensors by simulation of temporal and spectral missile plume IR signatures. It is used for T&E and ACT.

PRTS

The PRTS is a modular package that provides long-range capabilities to the Model 527 Radar Signal Simulator and can be linked to UV/IR stimulators to provide a multispectral stimulator. It is used for T&E and ACT.

Solent

This is an IR jammer test set checking irradiance level and jamming codes to provide confidence to air crews. Please note that a software package can be supplied to enable training of the Solent neural network against operational jam codes.

Solent Training Software

This is software used to gather data from IR jammers and train the neural network algorithm used in Solent to identify jammer codes.

UTS

The Universal Test Set (UTS) is an end-to-end confidence tester of Counter Remote Control Improvised Explosive Device (RCIED) Electronic Warfare (CREW) systems incorporating simulation of complex radio frequency signatures. It is capable of stimulating electronic support measures and measurement of electronic countermeasure RF jamming codes. It is also used for SIL, depot level and front line confidence testing.

UV Baringa

This is a stimulator of UV missile warning systems by simulation of temporal and spectral missile plume UV signatures. It is used for SIL, depot level and front line confidence testing.

UV LED Mallina

This is a long-range EO system designed to stimulate UV threat (missile/hostile fire) warning systems by simulation of temporal and spectral missile plume UV signatures. It is used for T&E and ACT.
